Guy Swayne Appointed as Chief Underwriting Officer, International, ACE Tempest Re

HAMILTON, Bermuda--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 15, 2005--ACE Tempest Reinsurance Ltd. ("ACE Tempest Re"), the ACE Group's Bermuda-based property and specialty catastrophe reinsurer, today announced the appointment of Guy Swayne to the position of Chief Underwriting Officer, International. 
 

Reporting to Andreas Lewin, President of ACE Tempest Re, Mr. Swayne will assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of ACE Tempest Re's international catastrophe business.

In his previous position Mr. Swayne served as Executive Vice President, ACE Financial Solutions International (ACE FSI) with responsibility for managing the ACE FSI business in Europe and Australia. ACE FSI, the Bermuda-based subsidiary of ACE Bermuda Insurance Ltd., provides non-traditional insurance and reinsurance solutions for international companies.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Lewin said: "I am delighted to welcome Guy to ACE Tempest Re. His wealth of experience in both the conventional and non-traditional reinsurance market will be a great asset to our international underwriting team as we continue to deliver consistent, value-added reinsurance products to our clients."

With almost 20 years of insurance experience, Mr. Swayne joined the ACE Group in January 2000 as Senior Vice President ACE FSI. Just over a year later, in April 2001, Mr. Swayne transferred to the London office for a three year period in which he successfully established a European presence for the ACE Financial Solutions International business.

Prior to joining ACE Mr. Swayne held senior positions as a broker at Aon Re Bermuda and Willis Faber New York. He started his insurance career in London as an underwriter at John Poland non-marine syndicate at Lloyds.
