ACE USA Introduces Long-Term Care Primary Liability Coverage to Respond to Growing Needs of Today's Changing Long-Term Care Industry; New Product Offers Primary and Excess Liability for Long-term Care Facilities
Oct 20, 2005
PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 20, 2005--ACE USA, the U.S.-based retail operating division of the ACE Group of Companies, today announced the launch of a suite of medical professional and primary and excess liability products as well as a comprehensive package policy specifically designed for the long-term health care industry, targeting nursing homes, assisted and independent living facilities, and continuing care retirement communities. This suite of products is offered by ACE Medical Risk, an operating division of ACE USA, which provides a wide range of liability products for clients throughout the healthcare industry worldwide.

With at least 6.4 million people aged 65 or older needing long-term care(1), and about 22 million U.S. households (roughly one in every four households) involved directly or indirectly in a care-giving environment(2), the demand for supportive services, and the availability of nursing homes and facilities needed by an aging population have never been as strong.

"Given the dramatic nature of change in healthcare in our society, and more prolonged health problems requiring long-term care, there is a heightened need for specialized insurance solutions for long-term care facilities," said Ross Bertossi, Executive Vice President, ACE Medical Risk. "As the population ages and costs of long-term care continue to rise, it is even more critical to respond to these unique risk management challenges."

Product Highlights:

ACE Medical Risk provides primary and excess liability coverage for the following non-profit and for profit eligible classes:

-- Nursing Homes

-- Assisted Living Facilities

-- Independent Living Facilities

-- Continuing Care Retirement Communities

In addition, ACE Medical Risk provides a comprehensive package policy including property, auto, crime, and boiler and machinery coverages.
