ACE Group Announces 20th Anniversary Global Day of Service

HAMILTON, Bermuda--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 2, 2005--The ACE Group of Companies announced that the company will observe its 20th anniversary next week by hosting a Global Day of Service, during which ACE employees in offices around the world will contribute their time to local community service projects. 
 

On Monday, November 7, more than 5,000 employees in 30 countries will be involved in approximately 150 projects that range from helping launch a Child Safety Education Program at the Seoul National University Children's Hospital to volunteering time at a homeless shelter in Houston that is assisting victims of Hurricane Katrina.

"I want to particularly thank our employees, who believe that insuring progress begins in our own neighborhoods."

Examples of community service projects around the world for which ACE employees are volunteering their time include the following:

Korea: Employees will volunteer at the Seoul National University Children's Hospital to run a charity bazaar, donate blood and launch the hospital's Child Safety Education Program.

Thailand: Employees will distribute helmets to school children in Bangkok who frequently ride motor-bikes without helmets, in conjunction with a Thai government-sponsored safety program.

New Zealand: Employees in Auckland will clear, garden and replant an overgrown area at Ambury Park that will be used to provide disabled children the opportunity to ride horses under supervision.

Italy: Employees will help landscape and work on animal rescue projects at the Nature Reserve of Vanzago, near Milan.

Netherlands: Employees will paint a long corridor at ZMLK - den Ark, a school for children with learning disabilities.

United Kingdom: In Crawley, employees will attend projects at a hospice, an open house for the homeless, a hospital and a school for children with cerebral palsy.

Mexico: Employees will assist children in computer classes and help catalog library books at the Milk Drop Social Education Center in Mexico City.

Bermuda: Employees will refill sand, clean tanks and water reservoirs, and paint the bathysphere at the Bermuda Aquarium Museum and Zoo.

United States: In Houston, employees will work at a homeless shelter that is assisting Hurricane Katrina victims.
