PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 22, 2005--ACE USA, the U.S.-based retail operating division of The ACE Group of Companies, today announced the appointment of David Patterson as President of ESIS, Inc., the risk management services subsidiary of ACE USA. Based in Philadelphia, Mr. Patterson will lead the ESIS team in continuing to provide innovative and effective risk management products and services which enable customers to strengthen their bottom line.

With over 30 years of diverse experience in the insurance arena, Mr. Patterson most recently served as Executive Vice President, ESIS Claims and Account Management where he was responsible for leading the network of claims centers including field operations and heading up account management, throughout the U.S. Mr. Patterson joined ACE in 2004, coming from Kemper National Services, Inc. where he served in a variety of regional and home office senior leadership roles in claims, systems and operations, culminating with his appointment as President & Chief Executive Officer from 1994 to November 2003. While at Kemper, Mr. Patterson led efforts to address organizational development, operations and service improvements and new product development, resulting in increased profitability and establishment of strong client loyalty. Mr. Patterson holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Upsala College in East Orange, NJ. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Education Program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
