ACE Announces Senior Legal Department Appointments

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 7, 2006--The ACE Group of Companies announced today several senior appointments in its legal group. 
 

John Lenzen, formerly General Counsel of ACE Bermuda, has been appointed Deputy General Counsel for Litigation, ACE Group Holdings, Inc. Mr. Lenzen will direct all litigation by and against the company and will supervise ACE's litigation lawyers in Philadelphia, Bermuda, New York and Atlanta. Mr. Lenzen will report to ACE Limited General Counsel Robert Cusumano and will remain based in Bermuda. "John has proven over the past several years that he knows how to manage ACE's largest and most complex litigation exposures," said Mr. Cusumano. "I am confident that his sophisticated approach to litigation and dispute resolution will serve our company well on a worldwide basis."

Mr. Lenzen joined ACE in 2002 and holds a bachelor of arts degree from Rutgers University, a masters degree in business administration from the University of Michigan Business School and a juris doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law.

Mark Megaw, formerly General Counsel to the ACE Tempest Re Group, has been appointed Director of Reinsurance Litigation, ACE Group Holdings, Inc. Mr. Megaw will oversee all reinsurance litigation by and against ACE, including both "ceded" and "assumed" reinsurance disputes. Mr. Megaw will report to Mr. Lenzen and will be located in Philadelphia. "With extensive experience both as a litigator and as general counsel for our reinsurance operations, Mark brings a sophisticated perspective to our company's reinsurance disputes," Mr. Cusumano said. "Consolidating both ceded and assumed reinsurance disputes under Mark's leadership will allow us to maintain consistency while litigating these disputes around the world."

Kevin Conlon, formerly Senior Vice President and Chief Claims Officer, ACE Tempest Re USA, has been appointed General Counsel to the ACE Tempest Re Group. In this position, based in Stamford, Connecticut, Mr. Conlon will be responsible for the legal operation of ACE's reinsurance subsidiaries and will advise management concerning contracts, regulatory developments, claims and strategy.
