ACE Tempest Life Re Appoints Rodney Cordle Chief Pricing Officer; Edward P. Scheuy Named Head of Underwriting and Treaty Administration

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Tempest Life Re, the life reinsurance business of the ACE Group of Companies, announced today the appointments of Rodney Cordle as Vice President and Chief Pricing Officer, and Edward P. Scheuy as Vice President of Underwriting and Treaty Administration. Both executives are based in Stamford, Connecticut and report to Ronald Colligan, President and Chief Operating Officer, ACE Tempest Life Re.

Mr. Cordle is responsible for all pricing activities and will also play a significant role in marketing life insurance and annuity reinsurance products. He brings with him 18 years of traditional life actuarial experience, 13 of which have been directly involved in traditional life reinsurance marketing, pricing and valuation. Prior to assuming his new position, Mr. Cordle spent the last eight years in Bermuda providing direct off-shore reinsurance solutions to clients, of which the last two years were with ACE Tempest Life Re. Before joining ACE Mr. Cordle was a pricing actuary at Allianz Re in Minneapolis. He holds a bachelors degree in Mathematics from Iowa State University, and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Mr. Scheuy is responsible for all underwriting activities as well as treaty administration. Before joining ACE, Mr. Scheuy was Assistant Vice President of Life Reinsurance for The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company in Hartford, Connecticut, with responsibilities for underwriting integration and strategy development. Before joining Lincoln in 1998, he was Vice President of Underwriting and Administration for Lincolns former subsidiary, Security Connecticut Life Insurance Company in Avon, Connecticut. Mr. Scheuy earned his bachelors degree in Business Administration from Central Connecticut State College in 1973.
