PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Westchester, the U.S.-based wholesale-focused property and casualty operation of the ACE Group of Companies, today announced the expansion of its Philadelphia Casualty office, to be located at 436 Walnut Street, ACE North America headquarters. The Philadelphia Casualty office will build upon the success of the ACE Westchester Transportation unit, which began writing buffer and excess liability business for truckers this past May, to now include admitted and non-admitted general liability, umbrella and excess liability products offered to wholesale brokers contracted with ACE Westchester located in the Mid-Atlantic region. Dennis W.J. Burton, Senior Vice President, Casualty, will lead these expansion efforts, reporting to Louis Levinson, President, ACE Westchester, Casualty.
The Philadelphia Casualty Office joins operations located in New York, Atlanta, San Francisco and Chicago.
“The inclusion of our Casualty products in the expansion of the Philadelphia office reflects ACE Westchester’s continued commitment to recognize and meet the needs of our clients in the excess and surplus lines market,”said Dennis Crosby, President & Chief Executive Officer, ACE Westchester. “Having a Mid-Atlantic presence will help us to provide the region’s wholesalers and their clients with greater access to ACE Westchester’s sophisticated insurance solutions, underwriting expertise, dedicated claims handling and efficient customer service.”
With more than 25 years of casualty underwriting experience, including excess and surplus lines, Mr. Burton joined ACE in 1994, as Vice President, Excess Liability for ACE Bermuda, before being named as Senior Vice President, ACE Excess Casualty in 2000. Prior to his tenure with ACE, Mr. Burton held various senior underwriting positions with American Home Assurance Company (AIG) in New York and Philadelphia. In addition, James N. Williams, Vice President, Casualty, will be joining the underwriting team in the Philadelphia Casualty office.
