PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE USA, the U.S.-based retail operating division of the ACE Group of Companies, today announced the appointment of Jim Shevlin as Senior Vice President and Regional Executive Officer for ACE USA’s Southwest Region. Based in Dallas, Mr. Shevlin will be responsible for setting and driving the overall strategic direction for ACE USA’s Southwest Region, which comprises northern Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and New Mexico. He also will oversee the regional production plan, distribution, product sales and marketing, producer management, staff management and general operations.

Mr. Shevlin most recently served as Vice President and Corporate Risk Segment Leader for ACE USA’s Southeast Region, where he led the regional efforts in expanding ACE USA’s presence in the middle market segment. He joined ACE in 2002 as a member of the management team responsible for overseeing sales and account management for a division that marketed voluntary insurance products and services to Fortune 1000 clients. Prior to his tenure with ACE, Mr. Shevlin held various senior business development and marketing positions with MetLife, AIG, Allmerica Financial, and Continental Insurance/CNA Financial. He also has served on several association boards related to the insurance industry. Mr. Shevlin earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Massachusetts at North Dartmouth and pursued MBA work at Nichols College in Dudley, Mass.
In addition, Mr. Shevlin led the local efforts for the Southeast Region’s involvement in philanthropic and charitable efforts in the Atlanta community, through active participation in and support of Habitat for Humanity of Atlanta and North Fulton Community Charities.
