ACE Joins Students and Philadelphia Police Officers in Planting “Seeds for Growth and Learning” at PAL Center Adoption Ceremony

What:

  ACE representatives will join together with PAL staff and the kids at the Police Athletic League (PAL) Locke/Millcreek Center to celebrate ACE’s “adoption” of this center through a generous contribution. The ceremony, moderated by Don Tollefson, ESPN 950 AM Radio and a Member of PAL Board of Directors, will feature a check presentation by ACE to Deputy Commissioner Charlotte Council, remarks from the Deputy Commissioner, and a special “thank you” from more than 50 PAL Kids to ACE representatives, through a special seed-planting activity. Immediately following the ceremony, there will be a brief tour of the center.

Since 2001, the ACE Charitable Foundation’s relationship with PAL has included supporting its Adopt-A-Center initiative with the help of ACE employee volunteers. In addition to hosting the holiday party for Police Memorial PAL Center in Frankford, St. Benedict and Locke PAL Centers, support from the ACE Charitable Foundation allows the Centers to continue to expand their after-school curriculum, maintain existing general operations, and carry on their mission of “Cops Helping Kids.” The Centers provide free after-school programs to kids between the ages of 6-18, many of whom are economically disadvantaged.
