PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE USA, the U.S.-based retail operating division of the ACE Group, today announced executive appointments in its large-risk division, ACE Risk Management. Lou Capparelli has been appointed Senior Vice President and Branch Manager, Midwest Region, based in Chicago, Ill. David Zelickman has been appointed Senior Vice President and Branch Manager, Northeast Region, based in Boston, Mass. Mr. Capparelli and Mr. Zelickman will both report to Matt Merna, Chief Operating Officer of ACE Risk Management.

“These appointments acknowledge Lou and Dave’s accomplishments, leadership and proven success with local regional brokers and clients to help them better understand ACE Risk Management’s broad range of products and services,” said Mr. Merna. “Both the Midwest and Northeast regions represent tremendous opportunities for our continued growth in the large risk market.”

With twenty years of experience in the insurance industry, Mr. Capparelli most recently served as Senior Vice President, Northeast Region, for ACE Risk Management. He joined ACE in December, 2002, as Business Development Manager in ACE Risk Management’s Boston Branch, responsible for new business production and broker relations in New England and upstate New York. Mr. Capparelli previously spent twelve years with Liberty Mutual in a variety of sales, marketing and financial management positions. He began his career with JP Morgan & Company in New York City. He holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) professional designation.

With his nearly twenty-five years of experience in the insurance industry, and with particular emphasis on serving the regional large-risk marketplace, Mr. Zelickman most recently served as Senior Vice President, ACE Risk Management. He joined ACE in October 2000 as part of the Boston Branch’s National Account Underwriting Unit. He previously held a variety of leadership positions in the large-risk field operations arena with Reliance and Crum & Forster.
