PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE USA, the U.S.-based retail operating division of the ACE Group, today announced the appointment of Chris Maleno as Chief Operating Officer. In this new role, Mr. Maleno will assist the ACE USA President in overseeing all day-to-day operations for the company’s wide array of commercial property and casualty insurance products and services. Mr. Maleno joined ACE in 2007, and most recently served as President, ACE Casualty Risk.

In addition, Ross Bertossi has been appointed President, ACE USA Casualty Lines. Mr. Bertossi will have overall responsibility for the company’s casualty businesses, with the exception of its large account primary casualty division, ACE Risk Management. In addition to his current duties as President, ACE Medical Risk, Mr. Bertossi will oversee ACE Casualty Risk, including the Excess Casualty, Environmental, Construction, Custom Casualty and Public Entity business units, as well as ACE USA’s Foreign Casualty operations.

Mr. Maleno and Mr. Bertossi will report to John Lupica, Chief Operating Officer, Insurance-North America and President, ACE USA. “Chris and Ross will play critical roles in the future of our retail franchise,” said Mr. Lupica. “They are respected industry leaders and will continue to distinguish ACE and our offerings to customers and distribution partners.”

Mr. Maleno brings more than 22 years of diverse experience in the insurance arena to his new role. Prior to joining ACE in 2007 as President, ACE USA Regional Operations, he held several senior leadership positions in casualty underwriting and regional operations management within the industry.

With more than 23 years of industry experience, Mr. Bertossi joined ACE in 2002, as Senior Vice President, ACE Medical Risk, leading the company’s newly-formed medical professional liability division. Prior to his tenure with ACE, Mr. Bertossi served as Senior Vice President, CNA HealthPro. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriting (CPCU) professional designation.
