PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE USA, the U.S.-based retail operating division of the ACE Group, today announced the appointment of Andrew Hurley as Chief Operating Officer of its New York region. In this new role, Mr. Hurley will assist in developing and executing the regional business plan, and driving regional segmentation development. He will work closely with Katharyn Kubursi, who has been appointed Vice President and National Segment Leader of the New York region, on coordinated distribution management and execution within this key region. Mr. Hurley will also continue to oversee operations of the Morristown, N.J., branch office.
Ms. Kubursi is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of ACE USA’s National Account segmentation strategy throughout the New York Region, and for maintaining and expanding relationships with large clients across all lines of business. She will collaborate with clients and their broker partners to deliver ACE’s broad spectrum of products and services, with customized solutions that meet their risk management objectives. Mr. Hurley and Ms. Kubursi will report to John Alfieri, Senior Vice President and Regional Executive Officer, ACE USA New York region.

With more than 19 years of industry experience, primarily in commercial lines, Mr. Hurley joined ACE USA in 2006 as Branch Manager of its Northern New Jersey office, and subsequently served as Corporate Risk Segment Leader for the company’s New York office. He joined ACE from Chubb & Sons, where he previously served as Practice Leader – Commercial Insurance Specialty for the New Jersey, New York and Northeast regions. His earlier experience includes various sales and underwriting positions for Chubb & Sons and Chubb Services Corporation, and serving as a broker with Patriot Securities in New York City. Mr. Hurley received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College.
With more than a decade of insurance industry experience, Ms. Kubursi joined ACE USA in 2006, as part of ACE USA’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Operations. Prior to her tenure with ACE, Ms. Kubursi held various positions in Business Development and Account Management at American International Group (AIG), Commerce Insurance Services, part of Commerce Capital Markets, and Marsh. Ms. Kubursi received her bachelor of arts degree in international business from The Pennsylvania State University, and an MBA in marketing, from Temple University in Philadelphia.
