PARIS --(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Group today announced a number of senior management promotions as it continues to invest for the future in its European region.

Jeff Moghrabi, Country President for ACE in France, has been promoted to the position of Regional Chief Operating Officer, Continental Europe. Jeff will have responsibility for the performance and development of all lines of business for ACE in Continental Europe as well as for the sales and distribution function in the region. He will also play a leading role in driving regional strategy.

Serge Osouf, currently Executive Vice President, Continental Europe at ACE, has chosen to step down from this position. At the request of the management team he has agreed to serve, on a part-time basis, in a new role as Senior Advisor, Emerging Markets for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will remain a board member of ACE entities in Russia, Egypt, Pakistan and the joint venture in Saudi Arabia.

Nadia Côté, Financial Lines Manager for ACE in Continental Europe, has been promoted to the role of Country President for France. Nadia will have full management responsibility for ACE’s largest country in Continental Europe, manage the company’s 200-strong team and lead France’s business strategy.

In addition, Stéphane Baj, Director of Accident and Health, Life and Personal Lines for ACE in France, has been promoted to the newly created position of Regional Director of A&H Corporate and Affinity, EMEA. With profit centre responsibility for this important A&H segment across ACE’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region, Stephane will be responsible for developing and executing strategy, ensuring profitability of the portfolio and developing new customer propositions.

Andrew Kendrick, President, ACE European Group, said:

“These promotions reflect our continued investment across EMEA and, in particular, our accident and health and emerging markets businesses. They also reflect our commitment to diversity and to the development of home-grown talent at ACE.

“Jeff is the perfect choice for the senior role of Regional Chief Operating Officer, having managed two of our largest country operations and three of our emerging markets in Europe, and given his excellent industry pedigree. I am also very grateful for Serge’s huge contribution to ACE over ten years – and delighted we will continue to benefit from his vast emerging markets experience.

“As Country President, our French business will greatly benefit from Nadia’s successful management of our complex regional financial lines portfolio combined with her deep understanding of underwriting and distribution. Also in France, our corporate and affinity business has seen stellar growth under Stéphane’s leadership and his instrumental role in driving our specialty personal lines strategy further equips him for this important new management position for our EMEA region.”

All four individuals will continue to be based in Paris. Jeff and Nadia will report to Joseph Clabby, Regional President, Continental Europe. In his new advisory role, Serge will now report to Andrew Kendrick, President, ACE European Group. Stéphane will report to Patrick Drinan, Regional Senior Vice President, Accident and Health, EMEA. All changes are effective 1 July 2013.

Jeff Moghrabi has spent his 33-year career in the insurance industry and has been with ACE for the last ten of these. He was Country President for Italy before taking responsibility for the company’s French operations in 2007 and has also managed ACE’s operations in Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary. Jeff began his career as an underwriter and has held various general management roles with two other global insurers.

Nadia Côté has worked in the insurance industry for 18 years in number of underwriting and management roles. She joined ACE in Paris in 2000 and has held a succession of progressively senior positions, mainly in financial lines. Nadia has also managed the major account and multinational segment for ACE in France. Before joining ACE, she worked for a global insurer in Canada and France.

Stéphane Baj joined ACE in 2007 in his current role and has presided over strong growth in the French A&H portfolio since that time. Before joining ACE, he completed 17 years of service in the international medical and travel assistance industry. This included various business development positions in France, including ten years at International SOS.
