SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE in Asia Pacific, part of the ACE Group, one of the world’s largest multiline property and casualty insurers, announced today its second annual regional ‘Day of Service’, during which employees across the region will participate in various community outreach activities in line with the ACE Group’s over-arching philanthropic support for improving education and health, alleviating poverty and saving the environment.
ACE’s approach to philanthropy focuses on supporting local communities in which employees live and work. During the week of 11-15 November, ACE’s employees in 10 Asia Pacific countries will hold their respective ‘Day of Service’ with a broad spectrum of local community projects comprising beach clean-ups; raising funds, meals preparation and building homes for the underprivileged as well as blood donation drives. These countries include Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand.
Kick-starting the regional ‘Day of Service’ in end-October, ACE’s operation in Malaysia organized a visit for its employees to the Cheshire Home, a non-profit organization which provides residential care for permanently disabled individuals who do not have the means to support their daily living, in the states of Selangor, Penang and Sabah. Nearly 200 ACE volunteers delivered various essential items to the residents of the Home and spent quality time with them by engaging them in dialogue and entertainment.
A regional initiative inaugurated in 2012, the ‘Day of Service’ provides an opportunity for ACE’s employees in Asia Pacific to rally together and be involved in community outreach projects and activities in their localities.
