Ho Chi Minh City, September 5, 2016 – To provide the facilities of local schools with needed supplies and equipment and to address shortages in educational resources, Chubb Life Insurance Vietnam Company Limited (Chubb Life Vietnam) today announced the company’s continued support of four primary schools in Central Vietnam, which were sponsored and built with funds donated by the company from 2011 to 2014.
Under the auspices of the Central Region Natural Disaster Prevention and Support Fund, Chubb Charitable Foundation International and Chubb Life Vietnam have donated computers, books and equipment, valued at about VND 900 million, to supply the libraries and study laboratory of four schools - Xuan Lam (Phu Yen province), Trieu Do No.1 (Quang Tri province), Quang Thanh No.2 (Thua Thien Hue province) and Vinh Thanh No.2 (Nghe An province).
"We believe providing care and support to children is necessary for our society’s future. Our support to local schools over the past few years as well as this new donation aligns with our vision in contributing to education in a sustainable way,” Mr. Lam Hai Tuan, Country President of Chubb Life Vietnam said. “We believe the new schools, equipped with the facilities we sponsored, will serve many generations of students. We hope our efforts will help these students on their education journey and grow up to be responsible citizens. This project is also one of our ways to express our long term commitment to Vietnam”.
Being a socially responsible organization is one of the top priorities for Chubb Life Vietnam. Since it commenced operation in Vietnam 11 years ago, Chubb Life has actively contributed to Vietnam’s education system through its “Crossing Waves Fund”, a charitable fund launched in 2005. As of today, approximately VND 19 billion (US$ 850,000) has been donated to meet education needs via this Fund, including building schools and providing scholarships to 1,200 university students in need.

In 2013, Chubb Charitable Foundation provided a two-year grant ofUS$465,400 (over VND 9 billion) to Roots of Peace (ROP) for the expansion of the Sustainable Horticulture and Agriculture Development Project (SHADE) in Quang Tri Province, Vietnam. With the grant from the Chubb Charitable Foundation, ROP has now expanded this program to provide subsidized plants and equipment, technical training, and follow-up activities through farmer field schools, farm visits, and mentoring to over 850 Vietnamese farmers in the Quang Tri Province.
