NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Life today announced the appointment of Saloon Tham as Regional Chief Executive Officer for its Asia Pacific life insurance businesses. He will be responsible for managing ACE’s life insurance operations in the region, which includes Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan and Indonesia. Mr. Tham had been General Manager of Huatai Life, ACE’s joint venture with Huatai Insurance Group in China, since 2004 and will continue to support that business in his new role. He will be based in Bangkok and report to Ian Watts, Chief Operating Officer for ACE Life.

In addition, ACE has appointed Raymond K. Ting as Chief Executive Officer for its life insurance business in Thailand. He had been Managing Director of MetLife in the United States and a successful sales leader for 30 years. Mr. Ting was awarded the “#1 Company Sales Office” award five times during his career and was recognized in MetLife’s “Top of the Tower” and “Managers Hall of Fame.” He will be based in Bangkok and report to Mr. Tham.

Mr. Tham has more than 20 years of experience in the life insurance industry and earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mathematics from University of Waterloo in Canada. He is a Fellow of Society of Actuaries. Mr. Ting has 30 years of experience in the life insurance industry and earned a B.S. and M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin in the U.S.
