Ben Howell appointed as Head of Accident & Health, Australia and New Zealand

Chubb Head of A&H Australia and New Zealand, Ben Howell

Ben Howell has been appointed to the role of Chubb Head of Accident & Health, Australia & New Zealand.

In addition, for an interim period, he will also continue to undertake his responsibilities as Chubb Global Broker Unit Manager, Victoria.

As the Head of A&H, he will report directly to John French, Chubb Country President, Australia & New Zealand with a matrix to Glen Browne, Chubb Executive Vice President Accident & Health, Asia Pacific.

Mr Browne said: "In an increasingly competitive market, our key differentiator is the strength of our people. Ben's proven leadership attributes over his career will assist to take our business to an even higher level."

Mr French said: “With Ben’s appointment, I’m confident our A&H operation is in good hands. He brings a strong underwriting background to the role. Ben has proven abilities in managing P&Ls, portofolio management, process improvement, product development and marketing."

"His passion for the industry, understanding of client needs and ability to implement new ideas has seen him flourish within Chubb," he said.

Mr Howell’s experience extends across Australian and Asian markets. During his 15-year insurance career he has managed teams and portfolios across multiple countries, grown and improved existing businesses and successfully led the Asia Pacific start-up for a line of business.

He worked in Financial Lines for Chubb from 2002 to 2005 and re-joined the Chubb team in the Victorian-based senior management role last year.
