Chubb Life in Hong Kong SAR received a Platinum Award for its technology initiatives at the inaugural Hong Kong FinTech Impetus Awards held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The award recognises Chubb Life’s integration of technology into its services to provide better care for its customers, distribution partners and employees. The accolade is recognition of the progress that Chubb Life has made in the areas of cyber security, data usage, cloud computing, online underwriting, mobile technology and payments.
Chubb Life has introduced a series of new technology initiatives. They include implementing a new e-mail marketing and customer relationship management system, the eSMART platform that digitises the policy application process, and Chubb Info, a mobile app for insurance consultants to easily track their business performance and manage their clients as well as receive company communications.
Chubb Life is also one of the first industry players to adopt the Faster Payment System (FPS). It allows customers to receive real-time payments in seconds for their claims, loans and withdrawal requests. Another technology achievement which contributed to Chubb Life’s win is Chubb LinkSM, an industry-first, personalised digital business platform.

The awards are given out by Hong Kong SAR broadcaster Metro Finance, with the aim of recognising those financial companies, institutions and organisations that provide products which contribute to the development of fintech in the city. After nominations, a panel of judges comprised of professionals across different sectors reviews entries according to the following criteria: creativity, functionality and convenience, security and stability, technology, along with practicality and efficiency.
