In November 2020, Chubb Life Insurance Vietnam Company Limited (Chubb Life Vietnam) has launched “Chubb Life Vietnam – Am tinh mien Trung”, a community-driven initiative to donate more than 15,000 coats to children across 12 provinces badly affected by October’s floods.
People in central Vietnam are struggling to recover from the impact of reoccurant natural disasters. Infrastructure has been devastated, properties swept away, and thousands of children are struggling to return to school. With the goal of supporting the education of these children, “Chubb Life Vietnam – Am tinh mien Trung” has given away over 15,000 new coats to underprivileged students in badly affected provinces, including Thua Thien Hue, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Ha Tinh, Quang Ngai, Nghe An, Quang Nam, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Dak Lak. The donations were made by the Company, Chubb Life Vietnam’s Board of Directors, staff and sales teams across the country.
Over 1,000 coats were given away on November 17th, 2020, to students at four schools in Quang Binh, namely Huyen Thuy Primary School and Dong Hoa Primary School (Tuyen Hoa district), and Trung Hoa Primary School 2 and Bai Dinh Primary School (Minh Hoa district). Chubb Life Vietnam will distribute the remaining 14,000 coats to students in the other provinces.
Mr. Lam Hai Tuan, Chairman and Country President of Chubb Life Vietnam said: “By turning Chubb Life Vietnam’s focus to Central Vietnam, a region often beset by natural disasters, the Company aims to provide practical support to the community via ‘Chubb Life Vietnam – Am tinh mien Trung’. We hope that our donations will lessen the burden on parents as they try to ensure that their children can keep going to school.”
