KUALA LUMPUR, 10 August 2022 – Chubb unveiled a mural today depicting an inspirational work of art by renowned Malaysian artist, Poesy Liang. This collaboration is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by Chubb to bring joy, inspiration, and hope to the community through art.
Located at 175 Jalan Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, the 105-ft by 36-ft mural took approximately 10 days to complete. The mural was painted around the theme of ‘Rooftop Cats - Victory’, featuring playful felines with big dreams scaling whimsical roofscapes, striving to reach for the colourful sky that is full of wonders. Chubb supported the initiative by commissioning the mural.
“This public mural is the kind of breakthrough I’ve been waiting for. And what a gift that I get to do it in the month of my birthday! On top of the immense gratitude to Chubb for commissioning this work, I would like to thank everyone who made this collaboration possible” said Poesy.
Country President of Chubb in Malaysia, Steve Crouch shared: “It is a true honour to partner with Poesy in creating this constructive public mural as part of our CSR initiative. This collaboration is in line with our philanthropic mission of empowering people in places where we operate. I believe the outcome of this collaboration will help promote the mural-tourism of this historical city, which can be beneficial for its social and economic status.”
Inspiring people to thrive through difficult times is the key objective of this project. “What makes this effort even more meaningful is Poesy’s involvement; she is living proof of never giving up in the face of adversity. Despite the challenges of paralysis from waist down since her teenage years, she’s never stopped trying to make breakthroughs in life. We are proud to share her inspiring story and bring more hope to the community,” Steve added further.
Following the unveiling of the mural, a photo contest will be hosted on Chubb’s Facebook page from 10 to 28 August 2022, giving its followers the chance to win prizes. Visitors are encouraged to take a selfie with the mural and post it on their Facebook profile with the hashtag #ColoursOfChubb #ChubbStreetArt #ChubbPoesy.
