Ho Chi Minh City, 17th November 2022 – Chubb Life Vietnam today announced the opening of the Dak Nang Junior High school in Dak Nong province. This is the company’s 10th school-building project in Vietnam as part of its “Chubb Life – Vi the he tuong lai” program. Chubb Life Vietnam and the Chubb Charitable Foundation donated VND2.8 billion (approximately US$117,600) to fund construction of the school, which features two floors and six well-equipped classrooms that meet national standards. Once a run-down campus, the newly constructed school building provides learning facilities for teachers and students, as well as contributing to the quality of comprehensive education in the area.
The Community Fund for Disaster Prevention and local government also contributed to the construction of the school, which cost VND5 billion (approximately US$210,000) in total.
Country President of Chubb Life Vietnam – Mr. Nguyen Hong Son said: “We believe that supporting educational activities is a practical way to give back to the local community. Our commitment to this program and its sustainable values are helping to offer a solid foundation to the next generation, through providing better conditions for children to achieve their dreams and ambitions, thereby helping them to become good citizens in the future.”
Since opening its first office in Vietnam in 2005, education has been at the heart of Chubb Life Vietnam’s commitment to sustainable development. To date, Chubb Life Vietnam and the Chubb Charitable Foundation have contributed nearly VND34 billion (approximately $1.428.000) to constructing 10 schools in Central Vietnam, funding new educational equipment for schools, and awarding scholarships to support thousands of underprivileged students. The company has also donated 15,000 warm coats to children in the affected area of Central Vietnam and 16,000 new school bags to disadvantaged students at 97 schools in 14 provinces and cities across the country.
Principal of Dak Nang Secondary School – Mr. Truong Quang Hung said: “Perhaps, the greatest joy for teachers and parents is when they see more students enthusiastic about learning and excited to come to school. The inauguration of Dak Nang Junior High School brought joy not only to us teachers and our students, but also the wider local community. This newly renovated school, and the computer equipment for teaching, will provide students with better access to knowledge and skills, helping to secure a brighter future for them."
Director of the Community Fund for Disaster Prevention – Ms. Le Thi Thuc commented: “We greatly appreciate the subtainable activities conducted by Chubb Life Vietnam and the Chubb Charitable Foundation, in particular the school-building activities they have carried out over the past decade, which have made a positive contribution to education in Central Vietnam. As with the previous nine schools, we believe that this new school will serve the students and local community well for years to come.”
