Chubb appoints Chris Gough as Head of Property & Casualty for Australia and New Zealand

Chubb announced today the appointment of Chris Gough as Head of Property & Casualty for Australia and New Zealand.

In his new role, Chris will have overall management responsibility for Chubb’s commercial Property and Casualty operations which include Energy, Construction, Casualty, Financial Lines, Surety, Environmental Liability, Marine, Property and Industry Practice Solutions. His remit will also include Chubb’s client segments; the Small Commercial and Middle Market Division and Major Accounts Division.

Chris has 20 years of insurance industry experience having started his career as an underwriter with a local insurer. He joined Chubb in Hong Kong in 2013 to build the Employee Compensation Insurance portfolio and through the years, has been promoted to roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to assuming his new appointment, Chris was Chubb’s Casualty Manager for Australia and New Zealand since 2017.  

Chris will succeed Peter Kelaher, who was appointed as Chubb’s Country President for Australia and New Zealand in March. 

On Chris’ promotion, Peter said, “Chris has demonstrated leadership in underwriting, analytics and portfolio management during his successful tenure as our Casualty manager. He is a proven leader with a strong vision for the business. I am delighted that we can again promote talent from within our ranks to a pivotal position for Chubb in Australia and New Zealand."
