PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Group today announced the successful completion of its sponsorship of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania’s third annual Stuff the Bus program providing school supplies to children living in homeless shelters throughout the Philadelphia region.
“For the past eleven years,” said John Lupica, President & CEO of ACE USA, “ACE has been a proud supporter of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania and their tremendous work in the community. Their Stuff the Busprogram helps thousands of the more than 10,000 Philadelphia children currently living in homeless shelters get the school supplies they need. We’re proud that ACE employees in the Philadelphia region donated funds and supplies, helped get the word out in the community, and volunteered to assemble book bags for the kids.”
In its first year as presenting sponsor through an undertaking with KYW NewsRadio 1060, ACE Group, with its U.S. headquarters in Philadelphia, rose to the challenge to help Philadelphia children living in homeless shelters get the supplies they needed to start the school year on a good note.
ACE employees in Philadelphia, Wilmington and Cherry Hill joined the summer-long United Way Stuff the Buscampaign by donating book bags full of school supplies, virtual book bags (through online donations used to purchase fully-stocked book bags), and by donating additional supplies to United Way’s collections. As a result, ACE Group was able to give all the children in its adopted Police Athletic Leagues (PAL) centers in Mill Creek and St. Benedict in Philadelphia, the supplies they need to begin school this fall.
Now in its third year, United Way’s Stuff the Bus project works to collect school supplies and deliver them to school-aged children in homeless shelters throughout the region. For more information, please visitwww.LIVEUNITEDsepa.org/stuffthebus.
