SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Insurance today announced the following appointments for its Hong Kong and Taiwan operations:

John French: Mr. French has been given responsibility of overseeing ACE’s general insurance operations in Taiwan in addition to his role as Country President for Hong Kong and Macau. His career in the insurance industry spans more than 25 years, more than half of which have been with ACE.

He began his career with ACE in Sydney in 1997 and went on to manage both the Queensland and New South Wales State operations before being promoted to Australia’s General Manager in February 2003. In his first posting overseas, he was made the Country President of ACE’s operations in Singapore in 2003. As the Country President of ACE in Thailand from 2005 to 2007, Mr. French managed one of the fastest growing operations for the company in the Asia Pacific. Since taking on the role of Country President for Hong Kong and Macau in 2007, Mr. French has shown skillful leadership of both operations which have grown from strength to strength.

Edward Tseng: Mr. Tseng has been promoted to Country President of Taiwan, reporting to John French. He was previously the General Manager of ACE’s Property & Casualty business in Taiwan.

With an academic background in risk management, insurance and law, Mr. Tseng has been in the general insurance industry for two decades. His expertise extends to the full spectrum of the Property & Casualty lines of business. He has been with ACE for 20 years and is a well respected figure in the local insurance industry.
