ACE Tempest Re Group Appoints Tim Mardon Division President of Bermuda Operations

HAMILTON, Bermuda--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Tempest Re Group today announced the appointment of Tim Mardon as Division President of ACE Tempest Re Bermuda. Mr. Mardon will have responsibility for all operating aspects of the company’s Bermuda-based property and casualty reinsurance business, including underwriting, finance, claims and administration. He will report to Jacques Bonneau, Chairman, ACE Tempest Re Group.

“Tim’s underwriting experience in property catastrophe and specialty lines business together with his knowledge of the Bermuda market and international reinsurance industry, ideally position him to lead the ACE Tempest Re Bermuda team,” said Jacques Bonneau. “We are delighted to welcome Tim as he returns to the ACE Tempest Re family.”

Mr. Mardon has over 22 years of experience in the reinsurance industry. He joins ACE from Torus Re where he served as President and Chief Underwriting Officer responsible for developing and underwriting the company’s reinsurance portfolio. Prior to joining Torus Re, he was Chief Underwriting Officer of Citadel’s reinsurance operations of CIG Reinsurance Ltd and New Castle Reinsurance Ltd.

He began his career in London where he worked for Terra Nova Insurance and Zurich Re before moving to Bermuda in 1996 to work for ACE Tempest Re Bermuda. He spent eight years with ACE Tempest Re Bermuda in property catastrophe and specialty underwriting, rising to the position of Chief Underwriting Officer for the company’s US Desk.
