Hong Kong, October 28, 2016 – Chubb Life, the global life insurance division of Chubb, today announced that its life insurance subsidiary in Hong Kong has won three awards under the Family-Friendly Employers Award Scheme 2015/16, they are the “Family-Friendly Employer Award”, “Special Mention Award” and “Awards for Breastfeeding Support”. Organized by the Home Affairs Bureau and the Family Council, these accolades are a testament to Chubb Life’s commitment to family-friendly employment policies and practices that help employees to achieve a good work-life balance.  

Chubb Life values employee’s efforts and contribution to the company, and caring for their physical and mental health is the company’s key priority in the human resource agenda. In order to foster a pro-family culture within the company, Chubb Life organizes various employee engagement events and wellness programs across the year. One of them was the “Kids Experience Day” hosted on Christmas Eve, employees were invited to bring their children to the office and join the Christmas party together in celebration of the festive season. The company also launched a “Health Month” and other social recreational activities like annual dinner and cooking class, to keep staff invigorated. In addition to the provision of nursing facilities in the workplace, Chubb Life also supports breastfeeding mothers by enabling them to take lactation breaks during working hours.

Launched in 2011, the Family-Friendly Employers Award Scheme aims to raise employers' awareness of the importance of family core values by recognizing their achievements in implementing family-friendly measures and demonstration of a family-friendly spirit. In particular, the “Awards for Breastfeeding Support” was added this year to commend employers who provide an appropriate and friendly environment to cater the needs of breastfeeding employees.
